the highlight of today (eve of the lunar new year for us CHINESE people) was our mid-day lunch w aunt cat, elaine, granny and momi at Coca :) i had a very good meal and catching up w them!! and the food was delish ^^

and of course meeting up w ng piwei!!!!!!!! i missed the dood. didn't have enough time to catch up the last time he visited me at work :) so i really enjoyed talkin t him today........ and taking a walk around novena! yay. he's going to brunei for army this thursday!! ps. i still think you should shave your head for HYGIENE PURPOSES piwei......

today i had the biggest letdown in my life!!! mom and i went to paosing chicken rice to eat, and the rice was so icky!! oily and mushy. ew? its been my fav chix rice since like kindergarten man :( such a huge trauma to deal with :(

wellzzzz today met dad for lunch at the usual beef noodle place and then we went to his place and nuaed the entire sunday. bummed around while he busied himself playing his top like 15 best albums/music/record on his really nice speaker system in his room..... and watched the movie 'taken'. good movie! and i had dinner at astons. and spoke to ray on the phone for awhile after.... which was nice.

havent seen ray in light years, freaking girl stressing out over her job and targets to meet sigh..... i am so gonna get a stress-free job man.... going job hunting with tracy tan tmr, hope i get smt soon. i need to earn sm $$!!

so i've decided that i will continue to post about snippets of my life here... since its been rather stagnant for awhile until my previous post!

so anyway let me update you about my life of late. this week's been exciting, i've been jamming with The Ignition Band, aka Justin YouSung and I, aka the 3 Sausage, aka Beatty Terrorists LOL, and having my annual choir chalet as well.

i just wanna say i am so glad that i agreed to do this gig with them cuz in a matter of just a few days i really really drew lots closer to both of them!!! i love how we are so comfortable w each other and click so well tgt ^^ after a long time of consideration and practise, we decided and finalised on these 4 songs for our performance in Beatty's Prom Night (class of 2011): firework/straight up medley, love you like a love song, we'll be a dream and price tag.

i really enjoyed myself during the performance really, cuz the crowd was so onz and spontaneous and cute and high and responsive! afi's dance crew was totally backing us up, super cute people AND I TOTALLY MISSED THE BEATTY SPIRIT! its still there :))))) (as you can see im very proud of my sch) almost 0 anxiety, gotta thank God for helping me with that, and actually every other aspect of our perf.

after prom, (yay yousung had the car) we drove to bowl at orchid country club... i won them the second round!!! then we had sundae at the AMK macs drive thru... and went to bishan for my virgin prawning experience which was totally a bore cuz we had to touch icky slimy bait for the stupid prawns who were too smart to get caught. ie we caught zero prawns LOL. but we had a good time talking lah :) and I PROMISE, ys is forever saboing me ._.

we sat in the car for quite a while just talking, windows winded down, and realised that its gonna be quite awhile before we can hang out/meet again! so we began to emo. ya i think we rly enjoy each other's company a lot. so i thank God for them :)

choir chalet was awesome mostly on the first day when TT spoke to us about our choir anthem (yay! finally) and we got to learn the main melody/lyrics... jin and i were almost brought to tears when TT was talking about how our batch fought for change and opportunity and stuff like that. very very memorable stuff. yep and the few of us played Polar Bear with TT, which was fun and funny, because everyone knew me so well, they knew i was the polar bear right after the first nightfall. and stuff like that. it was fun. oh and im quite happy to have gotten to know a few of my juniors better, like sarah chan, yuzi and val :)))))

so yea i'll upload the scanned photos once i scan them in, in the mean time this is one photo we took at prom night with 2 juniors!

SO i have been looking through my old beatty pictures, my blog archives and i dug up this MV my friends made of themselves for me on my 16th birthday... the sound quality is really bad so half the time im guessing the lyrics of their song.. but its so sweet <3 i'm reminded of the beaver bond (6ofus) and i soo miss how we were tgt everyday for sch. now, i'd kill (ok not kill..) for just ONE DAY back in beatty.

can was saying that when she gets back, the few of us should wear our beatty uniform and galavant around like we used to. sounds super fun except i dont know where my bty uniform went. it should be around smwhr tho, i know i kept one set ^^

so whats been up with my life after the big A's?

well, recently during the christmas season, ive been caroling at the RWS (and USS on christmas day) ive met new people and i must say the kids from DHS and KC are really really nice :)

i met up with Con who came back home for a holiday (lol what an irony)

i spent lots of time with friends... one night, i met dione for dinner at bugis. so we were walking along some street nearby and this man approached us. he looked rather innocent, maybe 20+ to 30 y.o., small ish, darker-skinned. spoke in a vv muffled/hushed and foreign accent. so we went slightly closer to hear him clearer, but he came soooo near us it became freaky. dione heard him say "i have been waiting for you. how much?" ie. prostitution. so we walked away from him. when i looked back like 2/3 times he kept waving at me. at one point of time i felt the urge to run so i pulled dione with me, and dione turned back to see AND HE WAS CHASING AFTER US OMG. that made us run like three times faster. freaky!!!!so thank God we found a backlane to detour and confuse him.... yeap so he lost us phew. it was quite funny if i think back about it now haha!

SO KIDS, EXERCISE IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP FIT AND RUN AWAY FROM WEIRD PEOPLE YOU MEET ON THE STREET!

this holiday, i spent time w germsies as well cuz her calvin went into the army. we baked like 100 cupcakes for christmas. that was quite fun :) we went shopping and stuff too!! love the girl.

also, this friday 6jan is beatty's prom, and justin asked me to sing w them! OF COURSE i agreed, i havent jammed w em since the last time we performed at daniel's church friend's wedding. and that was in sec4. ie 2 years ago.

THIS. was 2 years ago. so now, we're w/o nat and dan, but w Yousung. so thats gonna be fun. also cuz our lineup of songs are really upbeat and stuff!! let me spoil it:

1) firework -> straight up
2)love you like a love song
3) we'll be a dream
4) price tag

woohoo! such fun songs. for example i will be rapping the B.o.B part of price tag. RAPPING. my first time. minnie and my mom said i CMI, but jin said it'll be better w the music and im not so bad!!! yayy. just gonna do it. hahahaha!
and to come think about it, my PSL class is graduating from beatty this year :) wow. i still rmb when they just came in, sec1 and all.

alsoooo, there is the annual choir chalet coming up tmr. i'm so excited and happy to see/spend time w all my choir besties again, like jin, esmond, yeemun, bon, asaph, etc etc etc. PLUS the choir anthem should be ready by tmr (finally) which im 350% excited to learn omg. NYJChoir pride. and all the fun stuff we gonna do!!!!!!!! like last year. homeeeeegeeee. i can finally spend time with the choir people :)))))

its gonna be a busy week, cuz choir chalet from wed-fri morn. thats if i decide to stay 2 nights (which i should.. cuz the retainees will be busy w prep for a's this year and i wont get to see them as much) and on thurs night, i need to head down to justin's for the last prac for the prom gig. and then head back to nsrcc. and then friday yousung's fetching us with his dad's merc to prom!!! sounds fun right?????? im really excited this week.

and for next week, ITS TIME FOR TRACY AND I TO START JOB HUNTUNG! kinda late i know, but better late than never. at least we have like till aug. ^^

Today like up till now has been slightly crazy, up since 7am for jams and Sunday svc, then traveled from Adam to PL for jams..... And now im traveling back to Adam area for z3 thanksgiving dinner..... But God has been good! Best night. Initially Pi asked us to go to G's cuz the boys were all going over.. And I didnt want to since it'll mean going home and sleeping late, but I didn't regret :) I missed the guys so much! I don't understand how people can be so bored during their holidays. Okay maybe for those who have stricter parents and are not granted as much freedom. But yea. All through the school year we dream of the holidays and mehmeh so much about school and class, and when the holiday comes, you allow yourself to get bored??!

Someone Like You... Adele. Good stuff. Love it. Totally relatable. Was just listening to it, and I'm now thinking of a particular friendship in the past. Funny how we... Started out a little more than friends tho, that was the cute part. It was amazing to get to know you. I loved how we were with each other, I loved our chemistry, loved having you around. You were my best friend :) doesn't matter if it were the same for you or not, but you were my best friend. And I loved you for that... Don't know what made it so awesome between us.. Truth is I never found out if whatever I felt was a genuine platonic love or... Like-Love. Haha! Man. I still wonder sometimes? Cuz when we stopped talking I was soo sad. And right then and there I told myself its okay, I'll find someone like you. Years down the road now I'm listening to this and guess what, I haven't found someone like you.. No one Remotely like you at all. Yet. Nope. Not even you, now. Guess what we had was a whiz of the past.. Been so emotional the past week or so, maybe it's just so many things failing me/ or I think too much.. It's Germ's and can's birthday today! Two very very dear girls of mine.. Candies didn't reply me on wapp, hope she got my msg! By any chance ur seeing this, I miss u LAWWWTS girl!

So we went to Arab.... A place germ recommended. 'twas alright, but they ran out of the turkish apple tea we wanted! Was there w Yang, Lay and nanpu, i missed lay!! He's leaving back to Cambodia Tmr for good.... Where he will be getting married at in about a year or two's time.... Is that crazy or what!

I am so happy that we still meet up and catch up :') it's a nice feeling. And i didn't spend a single cent, that's what u get when your friends are loaded$$$!

I was just thinking.. If we continue to be so absorbed in the flaws of the church and the people and all the systems, and allow ourselves to leave... Leave God because of the church, we're really doing ourselves a huge disfavor because we're not gonna be there to watch God transform it all and we're not gonna be part of the transformation.

i had the best time with two best friends yesterday, min and germs. they slept over and we basically just hung out tgt, its been so long! we kinda slept on my couch hahahah.. i love love love them. grabbed brekkie at nex and they went to school to watch jammybeans jam for abit and they took off. after jam, jin and i had a quick lunch at djudju, and i went for cell.. the topic of discussion was.so.extremely.timely.and. sharp.

it was about.. what is important to me and if i am allocating my time wisely for all these things, like am i prioritising them properly. yeaa.. sometimes, i think i only really listen when God speaks.. and He spoke so directly today. thank You God :)

well not doing much for my birthday this year, i don't know, quite a bit has changed since my last birthday. but i am glad for the friends who always continue to stay by me and i am so very blessed to have them. and this time i'm just wanting to take different days to spend time with the different groups of people who are important to me..

you know the thing is i really really enjoy singing and jamming and all that but after my voice went nutty since last year i know i sound different and it feels different, and its so hard to sing the same again my range obviously reduced by a whole lot, i cant sing low, cant sing high wts, its damn sian sometimes and im really rly not seeking pity or wanting ppl to say omg mel no you still sound great, but i just lost the confidence in singing i used to have and when i hear myself now im quite sian and like im still singing quite a bit but theres this part of me saying i should kinda like stop, i should just stick to singing to myself,.....

like im singing at viva and i totally have super little confidence in my voice.
